2SCALE

Food Soldiers

2SCALE is an inclusive agribusiness program that incubates partnerships between farmer groups, SMEs, and larger buyers to build stronger local value chains. It offers coaching, market linkages, and investment-readiness support across multiple African countries, helping locally led enterprises improve food availability, create decent jobs, and make markets work better for low-income consumers.

Paths to food security.

Ask

Create a clear, human story that shows how 2SCALE’s partnership model helps improve food security—and make it engaging for both sector audiences and the wider public.

Makmende approach

We developed an investigation-led narrative centered on Benson, a Nigerian photojournalist, to unpack the drivers of hunger and the practical solutions already in motion. His journey connects local producers, SME leaders, coaches, and multinational buyers inside the 2SCALE network, showing how bottom-up models and fair partnerships take root. Remote conversations with Benin and Mali broaden the lens, demonstrating the approach’s relevance beyond Nigeria.

Outcome

A documentary, interactive magazine, and social assets that helped partners explain the 2SCALE model to stakeholders and audiences beyond the development sphere. The film toured multiple festivals, earned several awards, and was screened during a 2SCALE event, sparking further conversations.
