After previously covering CWI’s event and Awards Ceremony weeks in Dubai (‘22) and Paris (‘23), we were proud to once again cover 2024’s celebration in Shenzhen, China. The week-long festivities featured exciting sessions, networking soirees, and a show-stopping Awards Ceremony attended by over 1200 people, including celebrities, industry leaders, and Cartier CEO Cyrille Vigneron. One of our key tasks was creating four elegant and moving compilation videos to build anticipation for the award announcements, captivating the audience and connecting them to the honorees. In 2024, our deliverables were at an all-time high, including a ceremony video teaser with voiceover by Sandi Toksvig, live photography, daily highlight videos, an Event Week highlight film, a Ceremony highlight film, and live social media posts on the CWI account. Additionally, we filmed 22 video assets for later post-production, utilizing both an on-site studio and on-the-ground interviews.
We approached creating over 30 deliverables for CWI’s social channels with a distinct aim to open their doors to a wider audience. Moreso, we wanted to further position CWI as a thought leader on impact entrepreneurship on social media and took great care in aiming the content at both those within their ecosystem as well as inviting those “outside” to learn, share and celebrate. During the week, for instance, we interviewed the experts whose profound knowledge was once only available to those sitting in the plenary session and created content in an easily digestible format. As another example, we also made CEOs and founders more relatable with gamified studio content in an entertaining, confession-based format. For the video compilations to be used in the ceremony, we knew we needed both powerful narratives and cinematic visuals to make the audience feel their stories and missions in under four minutes. We knew filming impact entrepreneurs out of the office and into their places of impact would achieve this. But we also knew seeing the Fellows in their authentic settings would create a deeper connection with the audience, to help see beyond the women in gowns on stage.
Every year, our films and photography bring to life the stories of these women, both at the annual award show, online on CWI’s social media channels, and through the PR they receive in global publications like Forbes and New York Magazine.
