EDCTP sought a coordinated communications partner able to capture its work across multiple countries, events, and research programmes. The request involved producing finalist stories for the Global Health Forum, daily event wrap up videos, and a large scale photo and video library documenting project sites across Africa. EDCTP needed content that felt consistent across locations, aligned with their messaging, and could be used flexibly across reports, digital channels, and partner platforms.
Makmende developed a unified creative framework that ensured coherence across all formats and countries. Together with our local crews, we kept the fellow portraits personal and grounded, letting researchers speak in their own words and environments. For the thematic films, we used a journalistic format led by a global health journalist. This approach made complex topics easier to understand and more engaging for broader audiences. Event coverage in Kigali followed a rapid production workflow, enabling polished same day outputs. Across all components, we prioritised continuity: shared storytelling elements, consistent visual language, and production systems that delivered quality at scale.
Seven finalist videos showcased research impact across continents. Four daily wrap up films captured the Global Health Forum’s energy and key messages, enabling real time engagement. Five countries were documented with photographs and video snippets ready for multi channel use. Thematic and fellow stories enriched EDCTP’s anniversary materials, providing long lasting assets that reinforce their leadership in global health research. The combined outputs strengthened EDCTP’s visibility, supported partner recognition, and created a sustainable foundation for future content.
